Grouping Root Process Instances under a new Case Process

The Infinity provides functionality to group related processes and create a case. A Case Menu is available from the activity execution view and the Actions column in all process tables. For details on the Actions column in process tables, refer to chapter Working with Process Tables.

The Case menu contains two options:

For more information, please refer to the chapter Case - Grouping Processes in the Infinity Process Platform Documentation - Concepts Guide. Case - Grouping Processes in the Concepts Guide.

Refer to section Case Management Learning Video with a link to a video which guides you through the process of case management.

Creating a Case

The Create Case dialog allows you to group one or more active root process instances under a new case process. A case remains active until all its grouped process instances are completed.

The creation of a case requires at least one process instance to be attached to the case. Following rules are applied for the process instance to be attached to a case:

The user who wants to create a case should have grant for the permission Create Case. For more information on authorization, please refer to chapter Managing Authorization.

  1. To create a case of active process instances, click the Case Menu icon Create Case in the activity execution view toolbar and choose Create Case.
